Material ID Condense
What it does:
Condenses material ID's Based on the texture name or material name.
How to use it:
Under Utilities Tab, hit the MAXScript button
then push run script, locate CondenseMaterialIDs.mcr and hit open.
Now in the Utilities drop down, choose Condense material ID's.
Here you may choose to
A:
condense it from the material name i use a script i found on Scriptspot called "OS3D_SetMaterialName_v01.ms" i cant seem to locate it again but it sets all material names to the Image names.
B:
Condense by the diffuse texture name eg Image1.jpg
Random Wire Color Tools
Wire Colour Tools is a simple script for setting random wire colours to all of the objects in the scene. Anyone who does allot of post work either in PS or a compositing package should find this script useful. Being able to adjust any element or of your project in post by the object enables you to get the most of your image, rendering Wire Colour passes is very simple and inexpensive from render time point of view.
Spritey
- v0.1 functions: Spritey takes a cell-spaced spritesheet and uses the texture space to create UV coordinate animation based upon your specified cell numbers.
- Example: 4 rows of 6 columns of sprite images on 1 texture/material makes 24 frames of animation. 32 rows of 32 columns of sprite images on 1 texture/material makes 1024 frames of animation.(After the animation is created, you can manipulate the frames, animation, fps, etc, for playback as you see fit.)
- Why make Spritey ?
Well, IFLs are awesome & cell-based-sprite-sheets are awesome.
Pulldownit
Pull Down it! is a brand new dynamics solver which allows for the creation of fractures as well as massive rigid bodies simulation. By using its technology digital artist are able to simulate fast and easily scenes made up of thousands of objects and collapse buildings, bridges or any kind of brittle material.
FEATURES
--------
* Fast, accurrate rigid bodies solver.
* Fracture capabilities.
* Animation friendly.
* 32 and 64 bits version.
Select Every N-th-no UI
If you want to select every 2nd or 3rd or 4th, etc edges, just select the first edge, skip the desired number of edges and select the second edge, then execute the script.
If you want to see the time that script needs to make a selection, just start MAXScript Listener.
Instalation: Drag 'n drop two mzp files in 3ds max, then go to Customize - Customize User Interface. Under "miauu" category you can find "Gap Loop" and "Gap Ring" scripts.
On the video below the script works 3 times slower, because of Camtasia and my old, single core PC.
V-Ray Material Shortcuts
These short cuts are really collection of very simple Macro scripts. Like my Turn Viewport Maps On/Off this one has had some serious staying power with artists to date it has to be one of my most used scripts. All of the macros are designed to manipulate V-Ray materials globally throughout the scene, very quickly and efficiently. Each macro effects every V-Ray material in the scene. They are very handy in a number of situations, for example when you get a file from a junior that has the glossy sub divs on every material sky high.

Great Tentacle!
This is a great tentacle rig written by Felix Joleanes. The only issue I have with it is that It would be nice if the sin wave worked on more that one axis, ex: x,y,z
If anyone could help me figure out how to make this adjustment to this script that would be awesome! Either way it is a powerful script for using bones to rig a tentacle. I am planning to use a blend bone between this wave rig by Felix and an Ik system. If anyone could help me out that would be GREAT!

Chaos Group to present new developments at SIGGRAPH 2010
Chaos Group will be giving demos of Phoenix and V-Ray RT at this year’s SIGGRAPH. They will also be holding a public event showing how V-Ray can be integrated with post production tools into studios’ pipelines. Also of note, Chaos Group and the CGschool will be offering an 8-hour thorough training event called “The Best of V-Ray” that covers various issues including speed, detail, and noise in renders, animation techniques for static and non-static scenes, practical lighting of exterior and interior scenes, etc.

Turn Viewport Maps On/Off
This is a very simple script for turning Bitmaps on and off in the view port. It has been very popular in the studio that I work at work so I though I would upload it. Its funny how the simple ones are the ones that every one likes. Anyways it will let you turn view port maps on or off, it works with Standard and V-Ray materials. It also handles multi sub materials with no troubles, you can also choose to display Bump or Reflection maps. If you have any troubles or ideas for new features please let me know.
Sphere render for Object2VR
This script creates a set of rendered images which can be used in the object2VR program. Object2VR in its turn creates a flash or quicktime item from it.
Check out my blog for a more elaborate description.
the camera is animated in this manner.
Update: now specify your own naming scheme!
Update: now create hemispheres as well.
Rock Maker 2 & Rock Me!
This is a script I wrote while learning Maxscript.
It's now up to version 2.0 and will create low poly versions
It is based on a tutorial by Sascha Henrichs

I'm still making improvements as I learn, I hope you find it useful.
