This site contains a collection of the work I've done over the last 11+ years as a 3ds max artist in the 3d industry. I've primarily worked on arch-viz the past several years and am currently employed at HMC Architects in Ontario, CA. I spend most of my "free" time with my wife and working on my 3d community scripting website ScriptSpot.

Consulting & Training

I enjoy teaching others when scheduling permits - if you're in the Southern California area I can be available for consulting / training. This can range from the simple to complex - from simple instruction to more complicated project workflow issues.

My primary areas of expertise include 3ds Max, VRay, Photoshop, and After Effects and how they create an efficient process for visualization.

Adding tutorials section soon

I'm updating the site a bit - it's about time I start sharing some of what I've picked up over the years so in the coming several weeks I'm going to start putting up some training / tutorial type materials. I'll start with some presentations I've done for the San Diego 3ds Max User Group but hope to make it a semi-regular aspect of my life.

I've learned a ton from all of you over the years and I'm looking forward to giving back.

Presenting to San Diego 3ds Max User Group

I'll be presenting this Thursday to the San Diego 3ds Max User Group. Topics I'll be covering include initial impressions of VRayScatter, RPManager and exporting cameras and helpers from 3ds Max to use for compositing via After Effects.

I've been promoted

In April we had our annual President's Address at our office (HMC Architects) - I was given the "President's Award" and was promoted to an Associate.

3ds max demo at Kelar Pacific on February 5th

"On Thursday, February 5th, long-time member Christopher Grant will be showing his latest architectural image of the UCSD Rady School of Management (see image below) at Kelar Pacific’s facility in San Diego. He will be giving a comprehensive demonstration on all aspects of the creation of the stunning image he created. It was selected as Vismasters image of the week for December 15."
